The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People

by Stephen R. Covey

Stephen Covey argues that lasting success comes from character, not quick techniques or a polished image. He calls this working from the inside out: change how you see the world, and your behavior and results follow. The book lays out seven habits that move a person from dependence to independence, and then to interdependence. The first three habits build self-mastery: taking responsibility for your choices, defining what matters most, and organizing your time around it. The next three build strong relationships: seeking solutions where everyone wins, listening deeply before speaking, and creating results together that no one could reach alone. The seventh habit, sharpening the saw, keeps the whole system running through regular renewal of body, mind, heart and spirit. The result is a principle-centered way to live that grows stronger the more you practice it.
